The 2024 edition of the U16 and U18 Beach Volleyball Championships annually organised by the Eastern European Volleyball Zonal Association (EEVZA) takes place from August 13 to 15 in the Latvian city of Cēsis. As many as 15 teams per gender will compete in the U18 category, with this figure standing at 12 and 11 for U16 girls and boys, respectively. Earlier this year, the same Latvian city played host to a stop of the EEVZA Beach Volleyball Tour.

In the women’s U18 competition, home favourites Paula Krieva and Monika Mamaja are seeded first, followed by Poland’s Amelia Panek/Aleksandra Wolny, Ukraine’s Kateryna Nitsenko/Viktoriia Kachyoni and Lithuania’s Vakare Siličite and Sandra Vasiliauskaite. Beach Volleyball players from Estonia and Azerbaijan will also be represented in the competition, with as many as five duos carrying Latvia’s hopes of glory on home soil.

Seven Latvian duos will participate in the U18 men’s competition, with Gustavs Druska and Martins Pope seeded as number one. Six pairs from Latvia will participate in the U16 group for girls, where Milana Tīna Aleksejeva and Loreta Arkhipova are seeded first, while Olivers Pope and Renārs Lasmanis are seeded first in the U16 boys’ event.

The eventual winners in each age group will be announced on Thursday.
