VW Beach Pro Future Madrid meet the 16 duos for the Main Draw

The VW Beach Pro Tour Future of Madrid got underway this Thursday with the celebration of the preliminary qualifying rounds to access the Main Draw. The Beach Volleyball Center of the Puerta de Hierro opened this Thursday the first of two intense weeks of competition with the start of the men's tournament. Women's tournament will be played from May 19 to 22.

The preliminary qualifying rounds closed the composition of the 16 pairs that will fight for the title, with the classification of the Venezuelans Rolando Hernández and Hernan Tovar, the Lithuanians Stankevicius and Knasas, the Austrians Leitner and Kindl together with the Polish duo formed by Miszczuk and Kruk, winners in the duel against their compatriots Szalankiewicz/Czachorowski that closed the day.

“We feel very nice, it is our first beach world tournament, now we are in the main draw. Thanks to our coach, to my partner and to our family for send good feel for us. We did a good job today and we will try to our best in the court of the main draw matches” .

The Lithuanians couple said that this was their first tournament together and “we tried to do the best we could and in this game we tried to make less mistakes than them and we are happy to be in the main draw”.

Leitner and Kindl, the Austrians duo, revealed that until last Saturday they did not even know they were going to compete together yesterday, that they had only trained three times together and now be in the main draw is amazing for them. “Tomorrow we will go without pressure, we will try to do our best”.

“We are very happy because we are in main draw, we are ready to play tomorrow but we are really tired, so we gonna sleep very early and tomorrow we will fight in the group”.

The four Spanish pairs will make their debuts today. The group stage will start this morning at 9:30 am, with the first matches, in a day that will be extended until the afternoon to complete the composition of the next round that will be played in a long and intense day on Saturday. The highlight will be on Sunday, with the bronze medal and title matches
