Jastrzebski and Trentino Started The Final Round With Victories

The final rounds of the two top leagues of Europe started this week, and while Jastrzebski passed ZAKSA with a clear score of 3-0, Trentino also took the advantage in series by beating Lube.

The two SuperFinalists of CEV Champions League Volley, Jastrzebski Wegiel and Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kedzierzyn-Kozle, began to face off in the final series of the Polish PlusLiga.

With a superior game from the first ball to the last, Jastrzebski beat their biggest rival and started the final series 1-0 with a straight-set victory (3-0: 25-20, 25-20, 25-23).

Stephen Boyer, the French opposite of the winning side, was honored with the MVP award, primarily thanks to his 14 points. Polish international Lukasz Kaczmarek was the only player who scored in double digits in ZAKSA.

The second leg of the final round will be played on the 6th of May.

Just like Poland, the playoff finals started in Italy as well. This year's two CEV Champions League Volley participants, Itas Trentino, and Cucine Lube Civitanova, took the court against each other to lead the series 1-0.

The first two sets were quite challenging for both teams, but Trentino put their best game in the fourth set and won the clash by 3-1 (25-23, 23-25, 25-23, 25-17).

Bulgarian outside hitter Matey Kaziyski became the top scorer of the battle with 22 points and was selected as the MVP. Young talent Alessandro Michieletto's 17 points also helped Trentino win the huge fight. Aleksandar Nikolov's 20 points were not enough for the victory in Lube.

The first clash of the Turkish Efeler League finals was also played between Halkbank Ankara and Ziraat Bankasi Ankara. After taking the first two sets without difficulties, Halkbank struggled in the third one, and at the end, they won the first match in four sets. (3-1: 25-15, 25-16, 23-25, 26-24).

All eyes are now on the final series of the top domestic leagues. While Jastrzebski overpowered ZAKSA without difficulties in the early SuperFinals, Trentino and Halkbank sides also managed to lead the playoff finals by 1-0 in Italy and Türkiye, respectively.
