London Giants men’s team ready for Super League debut

The London Giants Volleyball Club is set to make its debut in the English Volleyball Super League this weekend, marking a significant milestone in the club’s rapid rise. The men’s team will compete in the Super League for the first time, with the opening fixtures scheduled for Saturday, October 12, at the National Volleyball Centre in Kettering, England.

In just a few short years, the London Giants have come a long way, and they aim to maintain this momentum as they enter the Super League. Founded in 2016, the club made its debut in the National Volleyball League (NVL) during the 2019/2020 season. Since then, their progress has been remarkable, steadily rising through the ranks to now compete at the highest level of English Volleyball.

While the men’s team has reached the pinnacle of the club’s achievements, the women’s team shares the same ambitions. Following a fantastic 2023/2024 season, they secured promotion to Division 1 in the National Volleyball League for the upcoming season. With this strong foundation, the women’s team is aiming for promotion to the Super League next year.

The opening weekend of the men’s Super League season promises to be a thrilling start for the capital’s Giants, who will face off against some of the best teams in the country. The club hopes to build on its recent success and continue its upward trajectory.

In addition to their Super League debut, the London Giants Volleyball Club is proud to announce that, in partnership with the domestic volleyball association, it will host the Super League Final Fours in the capital for the first time in April 2025. This prestigious tournament will feature four top teams competing for the top honours, with each side battling it out to earn a place at the summit of English Volleyball. The event is set to be a major highlight for the club and Volleyball fans across the UK. 

As they embark on this exciting new chapter, the London Giants are calling on fans to support their teams throughout the season, contribute to the growth of the sport, and help inspire the next generation of athletes, as both squads aim to make their mark on the national stage.
