Vienna, Austria, February 25, 2021. This coming weekend, the 2020-2021 edition of the men’s MEVZA League will reach its climax with the highly anticipated Final Four tournament that will be taking place at the Zwettl sports hall for the second consecutive year. Volleyball fans can follow all matches through a six-camera live streaming and commentary available in English as well as in German!

The opening fixture features two Slovenian teams, when OK Calcit KAMNIK lock horns with OK Merkur MARIBOR on Saturday. Afterwards, hosts and last season’s bronze medallists Union Raiffeisen WALDVIERTEL (AUT) challenge defending champions ACH Volley LJUBLJANA (SLO) in the second semi-final. The bronze medal match is due to take place on Sunday at 5 p.m., while the grand finale will start three hours later.

MEVZA President Karl Hanzl: “In view of the coronavirus crisis, we somehow went into this season with a strange feeling. Now I can congratulate the teams on having successfully completed the main round – with all home and away games. Everyone can probably tell its own story about this season. However, now the best MEVZA League teams are back in Zwettl to compete for this coveted trophy. We will broadcast all Final Four matchups live with six cameras and commentary in English and German. This will take the MEVZA League to the next level!”

ACH Volley reached the most thrilling stage of this season’s competition as the best team in the regular season ahead of their national rivals Calcit KAMNIK and Merkur MARIBOR. Therefore, the ten-time MEVZA League winners and participants in this season’s CEV Champions League pool stage are somehow the natural favourites of the competition.
