The Reigning European Champions, Poland and reigning Olympic Champions, France defeated the USA and Italy respectively to make it an All-European affair when first serve will be made at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games Men's Volleyball Final.
A semi-final for the ages, with both teams taking turn in taking control of the match, but it was Poland to narrowly take the first set. After that, for the next two sets USA took over the reigns of the match and most of the Polish fans started wondering if their favourites will be able to recover and get back in it. Those who kept the faith were rewarded through a gritty performance from Poland, a team realizing how close it is to an Olympic medal and running towards that dream.
Superstar player, Wilfredo Leon was again in great form, leading his team in attack through his 26 points.
In the second semi-final, a repeat of the CEV EuroVolley 2023 semis of last year, defending Olympic champions, France met reigning World Champions and EuroVolley Finalist Italy in a match that didn't disappoint the home crowd.
France was absolutely superb, maybe better than they've ever been to humble the Italians through a straight-sets win and take "revenge" on the loss they suffered in last year's EuroVolley. Trevor Clevenot from France finished the match on 17 points, the highest scorer on the night.
It's not all over for Italy as they will still need to prepare for a tough Bronze Medal match against the USA in what could become an all-European podium in Paris!
Italy vs France 0-3 (20-25, 21-25, 21-25)
