Monza, Italy, March 16, 2021. Saugella MONZA are ready to contest their second European final in history – the first in the CEV Cup, after the Italians triumphed in the 2019 edition of the CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup. The most exciting stage of Europe’s second-tier competition will begin on Tuesday late afternoon when Saugella MONZA host Galatasaray HDI ISTANBUL of Turkey at 6 pm CET. Live streaming of the match will be available on EuroVolleyTV.

“I expect a real final,” says Saugella MONZA head coach Marco Gaspari. “Obviously, this will be a tough match and we will need to find our balance against a strong opponent, who stands out especially in block and defence. We will be playing with a different ball than we do in domestic competitions and maybe we will not be as brilliant as always in the break point, but our goal is to go to Turkey and play the return match as the winners of this first fixture.”

Laura Heyrman, middle blocker of Saugella MONZA: “We cannot wait to play this final. It is an important match – the sort of match that every player wants to play. We definitely expect a challenging game against an important club, rich of history and able to play good Volleyball. We are lucky to be able to play this first match at home; therefore, we need to remain focussed and determined to take advantage of the home court to take three points and go to Turkey with such a psychological edge.”
