Six teams complete line-up for #EuroVolleyU19W and #EuroVolleyU20M

The third and last round of qualifiers for this year’s #EuroVolleyU19W and #EuroVolleyU20M held this past weekend defined the names of the six remaining teams due to contest the continental championships coming up later this summer.
The Netherlands did capitalise on the home advantage as they claimed three straight wins in women’s Pool J in Arnhem – dropping one set only along the way – to secure their ticket to the #EuroVolleyU19W Final Round scheduled for late August in Skopje, North Macedonia. They join the national teams of Türkiye, Serbia, Croatia, Romania, and Switzerland in Pool II.
Finland emerged victorious from a closely contested Pool K in Podgorica, Montenegro, where three teams – Finland, Austria, and France – all claimed two wins from three matches. The Finns punched their ticket to Skopje courtesy of their seven ranking points – thus edging Austria (6) and France (5) in the process. Finland join hosts North Macedonia, Poland, Italy, Slovenia, and Greece in Pool I.
The historic #EuroVolleyU19W – the first continental competition of this magnitude to take place in North Macedonia – will run from August 28 to September 4 in Skopje.
As many as four tickets to the #EuroVolleyU20M Final Round in Italy were at stake this past weekend. France claimed a clean sweep of their matches to top Pool I – followed by hosts Greece, who shared the same win-loss record with Sweden and Germany (1-2) but edged their rivals courtesy of a higher number of ranking points. In Pool J, Finland and hosts Slovenia registered two wins apiece to seal their place in the Final Round coming up in mid-September in Italy.
France and Slovenia join hosts Italy, Poland, Serbia and Slovakia in Pool I – with Finland and Greece completing Pool II – which already featured the likes of Belgium, Czech Republic, Portugal, and Bulgaria. The competition in Montesilvano and Vasto is due to run from September 17 to 25, 2022.
Türkiye and Russia claimed gold at the last edition of #EuroVolleyU19W and #EuroVolleyU20M held in 2020.
