The hosts entered better in the match, but then the reigning European champs could tie the score and both teams were breathing down each others necks. Neither the home side, nor the Italians would allow their opponents to take the initiative and thus, the spectators in ŁÓDŹ Sport Arena enjoyed some great rallies. Hardly anyone expected that ŁKS Commercecon Łódź after a defeat in a league match would look so good in a Champions League match, but eventually ŁKS Commercecon ŁÓDŹ emerged victorious at 25-22.

Highly motivated to show who they are, the Italians were storming it out in the beginning of the next set (leading at 12-4) and despite the Polish side’s attempts to change the situation, Novara equaised the set score thanks to good interaction in the block-defense and precise attacks. Katarina Lazovic and Elitsa Vasileva, from ŁKS Commercecon ŁÓDŹ and Igor Gorgonzola NOVARA, respectively, were leading their teams in these moments.

Also in the third set Novara showed better skills in the beginning (leading 13-6) , but the hosts didn’t give up easily, taking advantage of some unforced errors of Novara. Despite winning this part, in the next one, Novara lost their rhythm and thus, the Polish brought the game into a tie break, in which the guests emerged victorious.

As always, fans of ŁKS Commercecon Łódź prepared awesome spectacle. Christmas flags were waiting for both teams and fans were wearing Santa’s cap.
