Pala Igor Gorgonzola hosted 2800 volleyball fans, among them over 50 supporters travelling from Stuttgart to support their favorites.

It was a great start to the match for host Igor Gorgonzola Novara, as they showed great focus and energy to overpower the apparently timid Germans int he first set. Despite a noticeable improvement in the second set, Allianz MTV Stuttgart did not manage to fully get back in the game and narrowly missed out on leveling the score after two sets.

The Italian powerhouse proved too strong in the end and managed to take the match in straight sets, a soothing win after loosing the away match earlier in the competition.

Martina Samadan, Allianz MTV STUTTGART:  “Congratulations to Novara for the performance and for the win. We did our best, they started pushing a lot but in the second set with had the chance to go 1-1 but unfortunately we didn’t make it. We look forward to our upcoming game. The match against Lodz is crucial for our European campaign”.

Massimo Barbolini, Igor Gorgonzola NOVARA: “We did quite good and it was not easy against a team like Stuttgart. They played hard, they did good in defense but we had a good performance and conquered a very important victory. We must stay focused as we need two further victories, we know it won’t be easy but our target is to be for the third consecutive year among the best eight in Europe”.
