Vividly supported by the home crowd, CV Tenerife LA LAGUNA opened the game well with 3-0 lead, but the guests quickly erased the gap and took a three-point lead at 10-7. Both teams impressed with extremely good positive receptions (73% for La Laguna and 79% for Scandicci), but Savino Del Bene Scandicci was much more successful on attack. The hosts persistently chased the score to tie at 18-18, however Scandicci's super duo Natalia Zilio Pereira (7 points, including 2 aces) and Ekaterina Antropova (6 points) led the team to a set win.

The guests kept the momentum, with Natalia on service line they took an early 10-6 lead, but it didn't discourage the team from Tenerife. The team under guidance of Juan Garcia Diaz fought hard and although they managed to reduce the distance at 23-22, their own errors in this part were crucial (8 own mistakes). Antropova became a leader of Scandicci scoring 8 points with 4 block stuffs.

The third set also began better for Savino Del Bene, who quickly started to build their advantage. In the middle of the set they disillusioned the hosts, outclassing them on the court. In the entire set, La Laguna managed to win only 8 points by own plays, getting seven remaining points from mistakes of Scandicci. Players of Scandicci were like a wall on the net (5 winning stuffs) and quickly sealed the victory.

Ekaterina Antropova was not only the best scorer of the match with 20 points, but also the best blocker - 7 stuffs. Lisa Jeanpierre tallied 10 points for La Laguna. The re-match is scheduled on Wednesday, March 23, the team from Scandicci need to win two sets to raise up the #ChallengeCupW trophy, but La Laguna will not make it an easy job.
