1st – 3rd Round splitting

With 18 teams in these initial rounds, and the need to end up with four more teams to play in the 4th Round, all three Rounds will be used, on each occasion playing Home and Away matches with a Golden Set if necessary.

The 1st Round will be contested by the four lowest placed teams, according to the 2017 CEV National Federations European Cups Ranking List.

The two winning teams from the 1st Round will join the remaining 14 teams to make a total of 16 teams in the 2nd Round.

The eight winners of the 16 2nd Round ties will meet in the 3rd Round to determine the four eventual teams who will compete in the 4th Round.
