CEV and Eurosport join forces for #SuperFinalsBerlin
CEV Champions League Volley 2019 Super Finals

Luxembourg, April 16, 2019. The CEV Champions League Volley 2019 Super Finals are making history in many ways. This applies also to the partnership that the CEV have reached with Eurosport, who will be the host broadcasters of the ‘Volleyball party of the year’ due to take place on May 18 at Max-Schmeling-Halle in Berlin, Germany. The women’s finale featuring Igor Gorgonzola NOVARA and Imoco Volley CONEGLIANO will open the programme of the event at 16:00, followed by the men’s final between titleholders Zenit KAZAN and Cucine Lube CIVITANOVA due to start at 19:00 CET.

After providing extensive coverage of the CEV Champions League since the start of the pool phase back in November, Eurosport join forces with the CEV for the absolute climax of the season, the Super Finals, the first such an event held in Europe where prize money standing at 1.2 million € will be at stake.

The agreement, part of a much wider cooperation involving CEV and Eurosport, implies that Eurosport will be broadcasting the Super Finals in Germany as well as in France, with Volleyball fans from the Asia-Pacific Region able to follow the title-deciding matches of the CEV Champions League as well through Eurosport too.

“The cooperation with Eurosport is a truly historic and important milestone for European Volleyball,” said CEV President Aleksandar Boričić. “It allows us to provide unprecedented visibility to our elite competition and to our sport. At the same time, it shows the unique value and appeal of the Super Finals due to take place in Berlin, a history-making event for Volleyball and the CEV, whose legacy will be fundamental to foster the further growth of Volleyball in Germany, Europe and across the globe.”

Moreover, TV channels from across the globe will cover the Super Finals with a comprehensive list of takers due to follow in due course. EuroVolleyTV, the new digital home of European Volleyball, will provide live streaming of the Berlin Super Finals for those markets with no host broadcaster.
