Europe’s rising stars gather in Ploiesti for U16 Women and U17 Men qualifiers
2019 CEV U16 Women / U17 Men Volleyball European Championships

Ploiesti, Romania, April 23, 2019. Six nations are set to compete in a double gender qualification tournament scheduled for April 24-27 in Ploiesti for the 2019 edition of the CEV U16 Women/U17 Men Volleyball European Championships. The hosts of Romania, as well as the rising Volleyball stars from Estonia, Slovenia, Denmark, Czech Republic, Latvia and Slovakia will fight for a ticket to the Final Rounds that will be held in Italy/Croatia and Bulgaria for the U16 Women’s and U17 Men’s Championship, respectively.
 

In the women’s U16 competition, hosts Romania will clash against Czech Republic, Slovakia and Latvia in Pool C to win the coveted ticket to the Final Round. The matches are due to start on Wednesday, April 24 with Romania taking on Latvia. The 1st placed team in this pool will automatically go to the Final Round.

In the men’s U17 competition, four teams will meet in Ploiesti for a four-day showdown. Romania (pictured) will hope to use the home-ground advantage as they take on Estonia, Slovenia and Denmark in Pool D in the quest for a spot in the #EuroVolleyU17M Finals. The 1st placed team in this pool will earn a ticket to the Final Round due to take place in Bulgaria. The best second-placed team across the five second-round qualifiers will progress to the Finals as well.
