#EuroVolleyM – Brizard, Jovovic, Lagumdzija, Dzavoronok the ‘Players of Day 7’
CEV EuroVolley 2019 Men

Luxembourg, September 18, 2019. The next-to-last day of pool competition – actually it was already the last one in Montpellier and Ljubljana – did not only determine a number of more teams continuing their journey in the 8th Finals of CEV EuroVolley 2019. It did also provide the stage for the skills of some up-and-coming players to come to the fore. Setters Antoine Brizard and the already much more established Nikola Jovovic masterfully orchestrated the performance of France and Serbia while Turkey’s rising star Adis Lagumdzija recorded the highest individual tally in the tournament this far with 40 points in the match against Finland. Donovan Dzavoronok, together with Jan Hadrava, helped Czech Republic beat co-hosts the Netherlands and stay in contention for a spot in the next round.

Antoine Brizard (FRA)

French substitute setter Antoine Brizard is Wednesday’s player of the day in Pool A! As he subbed in for Benjamin Toniutti with four points down (8-12), he managed to keep France close in the second set and eventually won the two following ones with great confidence and vigour. Struggling with his serve, he made a difference during the time he was on the court, focusing on setting his different teammates - almost all of the French players set foot on the court - the best way possible to secure the win during the money times. A great display of confidence and expertise from the 25-year-old.
