Four sets victory for Dinamo MOSCOW in seasonal #CLVolleyW debut
CEV Champions League Volley 2020 Women

Luxembourg, 21 November, 2019. The closing match of the first leg of the CEV Champions League Volley 2020 Women ends with a victory for Dinamo MOSCOW that, in four sets, defeated domestic rivals Uralochka-NTMK EKATERINBURG: the team trained by Mikhail Karpol started the match without one of their star players, Hanna Klimets, who was out for an injury that will not allow her to play until the end of the season.

The match started with a close fight between the two opponents, but in the third set the home team grew in the fundamental of reception and block, whilst Uralochka-NTMK EKATERINBURG struggled with their serves. In the fourth and last set, Nataliya Goncharova dragged her team to the victory: the Russian opposite hitter was top scorer (26 points) and MVP of the match.

Nataliya Goncharova, player of Dinamo MOSCOW: “We are very happy with the result and we are happy to break the negative streak we have had in national competitions: we trained in a better way, we wanted to show some good game, but something was wrong with our style. I think we are close to reaching our best form and I am glad that we won in our first match in the CEV Champions League Volley. I really like to play with Lauren [Carlini], now we will focus more on fast balls.”

Ekaterina Lyubushkina, player of Dinamo: “Everybody was asking me - Are you still Dinamo? Yes, we are still the same. We have had a bad start to the season, but we are the same team, which loves to win!”

Mikhail Karpol, head coach of Uralochka-NTMK EKATERINBURG: “This has been our worst game this far. We made too many mistakes in defence and serve.”
