Follow Your Star - Samantha Bricio
CEV Champions League Volley 2020 - Women

Luxembourg, November 25, 2019.  Italy’s Savino Del Bene SCANDICCI achieved a sensational win in Turkey on Wednesday, upsetting reigning club world champions VakifBank ISTANBUL at their own house by the Bosporus, in a CEV Champions League Volley 2020 - Women Pool B five-set encounter. Samantha Bricio contributed 15 points (including two aces and one winning block) towards the victory to become her team’s best scorer of the match.

The Mexican international has recently returned to Italy, after spending the last season in Turkey and taking Champions League third place with Fenerbahce Opet ISTANBUL's jersey. With her former club, Imoco Volley CONEGLIANO, Samantha Bricio had won the trophy and the MVP award in the 2016 Italian Super Cup, as well as the national title in 2018 and the national cup in 2017.

After a difficult start to the 2019-2020 season, in the recent games of the Italian league the 188-cm-tall outside spiker exploded. In Savino Del Bene’s Champions League season opener, Bricio showed a strong game against VakifBank. She scored 15 points and registered 44% success rate in attack and 46% positive reception - a huge performance to celebrate her 25th birthday.

Savino Del Bene’s second-leg fixture, their first home game of the Champions League season, is coming up as soon as next Wednesday, November 27, at 20:30 local time at the Palaestra in Siena, and against another strong opponent, Russia’s Lokomotiv KALININGRAD Region, the Italian team will once again rely on Samantha Bricio’s excellence.

All Champions League games are streamed live on EuroVolleyTV.
