CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup 2020 - Women

Piraeus, Greece, February 6, 2020. On Wednesday night, Olympiacos PIRAEUS secured their spot in the quarterfinals of the CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup 2020 – Women as they beat Yenisei KRASNOYARSK of Russia 3-1 for the second time in two weeks – this time in a match held at the Rentis Arena.

The Reds, who needed two sets to qualify for the next round, resolutely clashed with their block and defense, storming to a 2-0 lead in 42 minutes only – and with that, they pocketed their ticket to the next round of the competition. In the quarterfinals, Olympiacos will face the winner of the fixture between Swietelsky BÉKÉSCSABA of Hungary and Slovenia’s Calcit Volley KAMNIK (Swietelsky won the first game 3-0 away).

Best players for Olympiacos were Saskia Hippe with 15 points (13/25 attack, 2 blocks), Athanasia Totsidou with 12 points (9/21 attack, three aces) and for Yenisei, Marta Drpa with 25 points (20/53 attack, 3 blocks, 2 aces).
