Two Volleyball legends bid farewell at Russia’s All Stars Game
News from the National Federations

Belgorod, Russia, February 1, 2014. The annual “All Stars Game” organized by the Russian Volleyball Federation was played on Saturday at the Cosmos sports hall in the city of Belgorod some 24 hours after completion of the National Cup Final Six. This time the game marked the end of the competitive career for two glorious setters of Russia’s national team, Vadim Khamuttskikh and Konstantin Ushakov. They both have already embarked on a very promising coaching career where they are supposed to prolong their unique success story in Volleyball.
Khamuttskikh is the current head coach of Gazprom-Ugra SURGUT that just finished the Russian Cup in fourth place while Ushakov is the assistant of Dutch-born mentor Avital Selinger, who is at the helm of the women’s team of Dinamo KRASNODAR.
The match was won by the team around Vadim Khamuttskikh (pictured with Gennady Shipulin, photo courtesy of Roman Kruchinin) with the score of 3:1 (26-28, 26-24, 25-21, and 25-23).
An extra contest was held for the fastest serve; this was eventually claimed by Russian superstar Dmitriy Muserskiy with a 121 km/h missile while second place was shared by Georg Grozer and Pavel Moroz who both reached 115 km/h.
