Hungarian champions ready to face star-studded Imoco Volley CONEGLIANO
2018 CEV Volleyball Champions League - Women

Békéscsaba, Hungary, October 13, 2017. The four-time champions of Hungary’s national league, two-time national cup winners and reigning MEVZA Cup champions Linamar-BÉKÉSCSABAI RS KFT officially opened their 2017-2018 campaign with a press conference, where the President of the club Ádám Baran shared with the media and the fans the goals set for the coming season.

Linamar-BÉKÉSCSABAI RS KFT will compete in the CEV Volleyball Champions League for the second straight year, and they will be playing a world-class team such as last year’s runners-up Imoco Volley CONEGLIANO of Italy this coming Tuesday, October 17. The local citizens are excited about the upcoming match, and Ádám Baran expects that the Sport Centre of Békéscsaba will be fully packed, with more than 2,000 spectators in attendance.

The Italian coach of the Hungarian team, Alberto Salomoni stressed that “this match will be special for me, and I also want to prove that Hungarian Volleyball has grown a lot in the last couple of years.”

The Mayor of Békéscsaba Péter Szarvas is very proud that the city can host one of the best teams in the world, and he is sure that the local organisers will be up to task.

Hungarian national team player Edina Dobi, who has returned to play in Hungary after spending 10 years abroad, looks forward to the exciting challenge ahead. She confirmed that the target of the team is not only to repeat the success of the past couple of years, but to improve on it. “I think this team with a lot of work is able to deliver a fantastic season again,” she concluded.
