CEV President meets with Prime Minister at Hungarian Parliament
News from the CEV

Budapest, Hungary, January 23, 2018. Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orban and CEV President Aleksandar Boričić discussed the Hungarian Volleyball’s success story as the country prepares to co-host the 2019 edition of the Women’s Eurovolley.

Orban and Boričić agreed that Hungarian Volleyball has gone through a tremendous development in the past few years. They also highlighted the results achieved by the Hungarian women’s national team, which qualified for the last two editions of EuroVolley and won the FIVB World Grand Prix Group 3 in 2017.

The parties – together with the President of Hungarian Volleyball Federation, Dr Ferenc Kovacs – pointed out that corporate tax allowance is a great opportunity for the sport to grow but it also prompts more work.

At the end of the meeting, they stated that Budapest proved its skills at organising the highly successful FINA World Aquatics Championships last summer, so they are confident that the Hungarian capital will deliver a 2019 Women’s Volleyball European Championship of the highest standards as well.
