NEVZA Technical Meeting in Göteborg to provide further boost to grow the game
News from the Zonal Associations

Göteborg, Sweden, June 8, 2018. The North European Volleyball Zonal Association (NEVZA) is currently holding its annual Technical Meeting in the Swedish city of Göteborg. The meeting, running from Friday through Sunday, is taking place at a truly inspirational venue for Volleyball administrators.

Sweden’s largest Volleyball club, Göteborg Beach Volleyball Club (GBC), is indeed playing host to this get-together. With over 1,500 members, GBC also owns the world’s largest indoor Beach Volleyball facility with as many as 16 courts. This venue has hosted a CEV Beach Volleyball Satellite in 2017 and 2018, and a number of zonal events as well.

Stewart Dunne, NEVZA President, commented at the end of the first day: “It has been a very productive day and we are especially glad that so many of our member nations will be participating in the Girls’ U16 and Boys’ U17 European Championship qualifications. We are exploring the possibilities of having our smaller member nations, the Faroe Islands and Iceland, as hosts. This has been made possible thanks to the CEV’s generous support of our youngest age-group athletes.”

“We in NEVZA are developing an extensive cooperation with the establishing of a number of key development working groups today, which we believe will lead to more and improved activities within our association,” NEVZA Secretary General Jussi Jokinen added.
