Partners of POINTS Project convene in Brussels for fourth plenary meeting
News from the CEV

Brussels, Belgium, October 21, 2018. All partners of the POINTS project supported by the EU Erasmus+ fund attended the fourth meeting of the group held earlier this week in Brussels.

Managed by the EOC EU Office and supported by the European Commission through the Erasmus+ Sports Programme, the POINTS project gathers an impressive consortium of 18 organisations. These include 11 National Olympic Committees (Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Netherlands, Portugal and Slovenia), 3 European federations (European Athletics, European Volleyball Confederation – CEV and FIBA Europe) and 3 specialised organisations (INTERPOL, Sport & Recreation Alliance UK and EOSE). The IOC, through its Ethics and Compliance Office, is an associated partner of the project.

The key objective of the POINTS project is to help National Olympic Committees (NOCs) and European and national sports federations to safeguard the integrity of their respective sport(s) and to strengthen their governance.

At the fourth meeting of the consortium, this time held in Brussels, the representatives of the partner organisations worked on identifying the needs of educational seminars and what type of methods to use in order to reach the full potential of the so-called SPOCs (Single Points of Contact), while creating a network of SPOCs among the partners.

Indeed, in 2019, nominated SPOCs and representatives of partner organisations will follow training activities to strengthen their ability to conduct the work of a SPOC. The seminars will consist of three sessions focusing on different topics and will aim at strengthening the respective skills of the SPOCs as well.
