New Year, New Me? Europe's Volleyball family greets 2019
Miscellaneous

Luxembourg, January 2, 2019. It’s no secret everyone likes a good party on New Year’s Eve to start the upcoming year with a bang. That’s exactly what the European Volleyball family did and we scouted the best snapshots between all the end-of-year reviews. The winner of the celebrations obviously is Jénia Grebennikov as he picked the last day of the year to tie the knot with his long-term girlfriend.

It’s hard to believe, but none of the three individual awards Grebennikov earned in top competitions throughout the year (CEV Champions League, Volleyball Nations League and FIVB Club World Championship) will be the highlight of his year – marrying his long-term girlfriend Wiem on December 31 surely is the icing on the cake of 2018. The libero of the French National team and TRENTINO Itas surely is Volleyball royalty and that’s exactly, how you could describe his wedding day as well. See it for yourselves!

New Year’s Eve sparked some bro-mance as well as Bruno Mossa de Rezende confessed his affections to his former teammate Earvin Ngapeth. What happens in Modena clearly lasts as Bruno has moved to Civitanova, while Earvin is having the time of his life in Kazan.

The squad of Zaksa KEDZIERZYN-KOZLE proved they are tight on court and off as Benjamin Toniutti, Sam Deroo and Paweł Zatorski all saw the clock strike midnight together with their better halves and little ones.

Serbian star Milena Rasic struck with her good looks on New Year’s Eve, while sending love to her fans and supporters all over the world – the ladies of VakifBank ISTANBUL are enjoying some well-deserved time off to spend the holiday season with their loved ones.

Joanna Wołosz also enjoyed a short break from the tight schedule of the Italian League. The setter of Imoco Volley CONEGLIANO rushed back home to sip the bubbly in Warsaw, Poland.

As the 4-Star DELA Beach Open will re-start the 2018-2019 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour, top teams are heading to The Hague, which, obviously put Dutch teams in a favourable position - Alexander Brouwer and Robert Meeuwsen had a chance to make a selfie with their friends at midnight.

Italian superstar Ivan Zaytsev, who will miss out on competitions for a couple of weeks due to a minor injury, proved family comes first as he spent the first day of the year kicking it back and teaching his kids how to drive.

And then Daniele Lupo showed us all what we should do to kick-start 2019.. You really can't get the Beach Volleyball players away from the beach.
