Halkbank libero Hasan Yesilbudak recounts love story in popular music video
News from the clubs

Ankara, Turkey, January 13, 2019. Volleyball players make the headlines off the court as well, for instance by starring in a music video. The libero of Halkbank and the Turkish national team, Hasan Yesilbudak, has experienced a further rise in his popularity because of a video clip that fans have been watching for a while now on Turkey’s music channels and that has reached as many as 1.6 million views on YouTube.

Hasan married Duygu Yaman back in 2013 and singer Sertaç Balcı performed at their wedding. They soon became friends and the singer decided to compose a track especially dedicated to Hasan and Duygu. The next step followed suit: Hasan and Duygu accepted the offer to star in the official video for this very same song, thus receiving a special gift for the fifth anniversary of their marriage.

The name of the song is ‘Hayatima hoşgeldįn’, which means ‘Welcome to my life’ and this is the official video clip featuring Hasan and Duygu:

Hasan is a very popular figure in the team from the Turkish capital. His nickname is ‘Dayi’, which literally means ‘uncle’ in Turkish. This is because of his always gentle and friendly demeanour, his readiness to help especially the younger members of the team and his social life. Many players from other teams respect him as well.

Before re-starting their journey in the CEV Champions League with a home match versus titleholders Zenit KAZAN, Hasan and Halkbank beat Fenerbahce 3-1 in the Turkish national league in a game featuring also their former teammate and friend Emre Batur, this time standing on the other side of the net.
