POINTS Project – Seminar on competition manipulation held in Lyon
News from the CEV

Lyon, France, February 8, 2019. The work of the EOC POINTS Project continues in full swing, and earlier this week INTERPOL and the IOC delivered a first seminar on competition manipulation held in Lyon in order to provide the SPOCs (Single Points of Contact for Integrity) with further information and a better understanding of the issue.

The main goals for the SPOCs in attendance were:

•    To know their role as a SPOC regarding competition manipulation
•    To know what kind of policies are necessary to handle this topic
•    To be able to target the different stakeholders
•    To be able to implement an awareness raising strategy

Managed by the EOC EU Office and supported by the European Commission through the Erasmus+ Sports Programme, the POINTS Project gathers an impressive consortium of 18 organisations. These include 11 NOCs (Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Netherlands, Portugal and Slovenia), 3 European federations (European Athletics, European Volleyball Confederation – CEV and FIBA Europe) and 3 specialised organisations (INTERPOL, Sport & Recreation Alliance UK and EOSE). The IOC, through its Ethics and Compliance Office, is an associated partner of the project.
