Serbia beat Bulgaria in pre-VNL friendlies
News from the National federations

Belgrade, Serbia, May 15, 2019. The senior women of Serbia, the reigning World and European Champions, recently played two friendly matches in Belgrade against Bulgaria. Both national teams are set to host the FIVB Volleyball Nations League matches at home - in Belgrade and Ruse respectively - already on Tuesday, May 21, 2019.

In the first match, played on Tuesday, the hosts won 3-1 (25-20, 26-28, 25-19, 25-14). In the second match, played on Wednesday, Serbia was better once again beating their Bulgarian opponents with the same result of 3-1 (25-23, 25-20, 16-25, 25-18).

Serbia will have their opening matches in Pool 4 in the VNL over the first week of the competition at home, in “Aleksandar Nikolić” sports hall. In the first round (21 May), Serbia will play against the Dutch team at 20:00 local time. In the second round (22 May), Serbia will face Korea at 17:00, and in the last round (23 May), the home side will lock horns with Turkey at 20:00.
