EuroVolley trophy revealed in Ljubljana with 99 days to go
CEV EuroVolley 2019 Men

Ljubljana, Slovenia, June 5, 2019.  As the CEV EuroVolley 2019 Men co-hosted by Slovenia, France, Belgium and the Netherlands in early September is fast approaching, the Volleyball Federation of Slovenia (OZS) organised a special event in Ljubljana downtown to mark the 99 days until the start of the championship. At the same time, the organisers revealed the iconic trophy designed for the 2019 European champions in front of the Slovenian capital’s City Hall.

OZS President Metod Ropret and Slovenian EuroVolley Ambassador Tomislav Šmuc (pictured) presented a glittering gold-plated cup in front of the Town Hall. The production of the trophy finished just a few days ago at the headquarters of GDE Bertoni in Milan. In the coming days, the spectacular cup will be the main magnet of the promotional Trophy Tour organised in cooperation with Volleyball clubs and primary schools throughout Slovenia, joined by some national team players.

In addition to the cup presentation, which resulted in thousands of photos taken by Volleyball enthusiasts and random tourists strolling through Ljubljana city centre, there were as many as 99 mini Volleyball courts set up in the streets and squares of the Slovenian capital. Many Volleyball clubs, families, fans and Sitting Volleyball national team players attended the show. Balls were flying left and right and preparations for EuroVolley are in full swing!

“I am very satisfied to see all of the 99 courts are full. This afternoon, Ljubljana definitely became the European Volleyball capital. It is so nice to see the full streets enjoying Volleyball and I am happy to see that we are on the right way to a successful EuroVolley in September. I must say it would be great to have this beautiful trophy back here at the end of the Championship,” Metod Ropret commented.
