Final Four spots at stake as Golden #EuroLeagueM resumes
CEV Volleyball European Golden League 2019

Luxembourg, June 11, 2019. There is a lot to look forward to, as six matches take place on Wednesday for the penultimate round of pool play in the CEV Men’s Volleyball European Golden League 2019. Turkey will vie for their fifth straight victory in Pool A to secure their spot in the Final Four scheduled for June 21-22 in Tallinn, Estonia. Spain and the Netherlands fight, though indirectly, for the top spot in Pool B while Belarus hope to resume their winning streak in Pool C, which ended last week when they suffered their first loss at the hands of the Czech Republic. Make sure you follow all of the action through the CEV’s very own OTT platform EuroVolleyTV!

Pool A

Turkey vs. Belgium

•    Turkey are the only team in the competition with a perfect record of four wins in as many matches.
•    The Beserli sports hall in Trabzon will be hosting an international match for the first time in history.
•    With only one victory and two points, the young version of the Belgian Red Dragons need at least one win out of two away games in order to keep their place in the Golden European League for 2020.
•    Five Red Dragons have a long-standing rivalry with Turkish opponents, since they already met in the Final Round of the 2014 U20 Men European Championship. Simon Peeters, Lou Kindt, Arno Van de Velde, Sander Depovere and Robbe Vandeweyer emerged victoriously after a tight five-setter against Dogukan Ulu, Yigit Gülmezoglu, Yasin Aydin and Cagatay Durmaz, all present in the Turkish line-up of this Golden League.
•    With 94 points out of four games, Lou Kindt is second up on the best scorers’ ranking, only three points short of Dutch powerhouse Nimir Abdel-Aziz. Yet Kindt’s efficiency is higher since he has only played 17 sets, whereas Abdel-Aziz has contested 20.
