Montenegro’s sports authorities delighted with success of CEV School Project
News from the National Federations

Podgorica, Montenegro, June 10, 2019. Before the annual EKO Mini Volleyball league reached its climax this past weekend in Podgorica, the Minister of Sports and Youth of Montenegro, Mr Nikola Janović had a meeting with the President of the Volleyball Federation of the Balkan country, Mr Cvetko Pajković and Mr Ricardo Leite from the CEV Technical and Development Department. The meeting and discussions focussed on the importance of improving the knowledge and skills of physical education teachers to lay the foundations for a further growth and development of Volleyball in Montenegro.

On this occasion, Mr Janović said that he was delighted that this year as many as six teachers from Montenegro will be attending the first ever CEV Coaches Convention in Slovenia, where later this month they will have the opportunity to strengthen their knowledge of the game.
“The attendance of our teachers at the Coaches Convention is another sign that the idea of school sports is right. In this way, our teachers will be educated, and later transfer their knowledge to colleagues, who will involve more and more children,” said Janović, a former successful water polo player – World and European champion with Serbia and Montenegro in 2005 and 2001, respectively.

Cvetko Pajković, President of the Volleyball Federation of Montenegro, expressed his satisfaction with the cooperation established with the Ministry of Sport and Youth and the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) in the implementation of projects such as the EKO Mini Volleyball league and a school competition. Pajković also pointed out the significance of the Coaches Convention, where physical education teachers will be able to acquire new knowledge and experiences, which they will pass on to the children they will be working with.

Ricardo Leite said that the CEV is extremely satisfied with the cooperation established with the Montenegrin partners and emphasised that through the Coaches Convention, teachers from Montenegro will have the possibility to learn from some of the leading European Volleyball experts working at the grassroots level.
