Erasmus+ funded School Project in full swing after second consortium meeting
News from the CEV

Bratislava, Slovakia, October 2, 2019. The implementation of the CEV’s Erasmus+ funded project “Play Volleyball, grow with it” continues at full speed following the second plenary meeting involving all partners of the consortium held on Tuesday and Wednesday in Slovakia’s capital, Bratislava.

Shortly after playing host to the record-breaking EuroVolley 2019 Women, the Slovak Volleyball Federation had the opportunity to host the partners of the project, which include the CEV, the National Federations of Estonia, Finland, North Macedonia and obviously Slovakia, plus the German Sport University of Cologne and Hacettepe University of Ankara, Turkey. The European Observatoire of Sport and Employment (EOSE) is a partner of the project as well.

The attendees reviewed and approved the final version of a handbook prepared for physical education teachers working with young Volleyball players at the entry level, which includes a number of easy-to-do and fun drills to help the youngsters familiarise with the ABC of the game.

The next step will be the provision of videos added to the portfolio of educational materials offered to the partners of the project and especially to those involved in its implementation at the grassroots level.

There will be workshops held in each country hosted by the partner National Volleyball Federations, with the attendees working on a calendar of such events, which will run besides the many activities due to take place in schools where Volleyball will feature prominently in the programme of their respective PE classes.

CEV Development Manager Vuk Karanovic and CEV Education and Referee Coordinator François Watthez represented the CEV at the meeting held in the Slovak capital.
