Belgrade, Serbia, December 29, 2019. CEV President Aleksandar Boričić received on Saturday a truly special recognition from the Serbian Olympic Committee – the prestigious award known as the ‘Olympic Heart’ – at their end-of-year gala held in Belgrade. The ‘Olympic Heart (also known as ‘Olympic Heart – General Djukic’ after the name of the founder of the Serbian Olympic Club) is a recognition of the Olympic Committee of Serbia awarded to persons for their special achievements in sport and their contribution to the strengthening of the Olympic movement and promotion of the Olympic ideals.

The Board of Administration of the Serbian Olympic Committee decided to award the CEV President to acknowledge Mr Boričić’s lifelong dedication to Volleyball and to the world of sports in general. In a time span of almost six decades, the CEV President has worked tirelessly and with incredible passion and energy to promote Volleyball and the Olympic values as a player, coach, official, executive, achieving exceptional results in all areas of his activities in the process.

The guests attending the gala could review the CEV President’s activities and achievements as one of the most influential persons when it comes to sports in Serbia through a specially produced video. Mr Nenad Lalovic, IOC Executive Board Member and President of United World Wrestling, presented the ‘Olympic Heart’ to Mr Boričić (see picture above).
