The Netherlands, Spain, Serbia combine to sign up 82k people to #1DayMore4Volleyball!
News from the CEV

Luxembourg, February 10, 2020. With less than three weeks to go to a truly historic day for European Volleyball, the Netherlands (36,000), Spain (26,400) and Serbia (20,000) are leading the way by recording the highest number of participants in the 2020 edition of #1DayMore4Volleyball this far. The grand total has reached 142,493 people due to play as many as 10,230 matches in 2,409 venues across Europe!

Obviously, the numbers are growing with each day and National Federations as well as Volleyball enthusiasts can still register up until February 29 itself, with this year’s leap day coinciding with a truly impressive, unprecedented celebration of Volleyball and its spirit.

The figures have almost tripled compared to 2016, when the CEV launched this initiative for the very first time – and these are testament to the extensive work done by the CEV and all National Federations to promote this action.

If you fancy playing Volleyball on February 29, you can still register via the official event website https://1daymore4volleyball.cev.eu and by joining more than 142,000 people in doing so you will have a chance at winning one of the many prizes at stake. These include a trip to the CEV Champions League Super Finals due to take place on May 16, 2020 at the iconic Max-Schmeling-Halle in Berlin!

As for the #VolleySkillChallenge launched by the CEV back in January, this appears to have become a major hit especially in Slovenia, where the latest ones to take on it include Rok Mozic. Many regard the player of OK Merkur MARIBOR as the rising star in Slovenian Volleyball – with Mozic joining Slovenia at the Tokyo 2020 qualifier held in Berlin back in January and boasting a silver medal from last year’s #EuroBeachVolleyU18 as well.

Eva Mori, the captain of the Slovenian women’s national team, has taken up the challenge as well – just as the young players of OK SIP SEMPETER have done too.

Further to the extensive cooperation that the CEV has developed with this leading transnational TV network, Eurosport have been providing coverage of #1DayMore4Volleyball on their digital platforms as well, thus helping inspire even more people across Europe to play Volleyball on this year’s leap day!
