SNOWWOMAN
Presenting Snow Volleyball star Olga Motrich

Olga Motrich was born in Moscow, Russia on July 18, 1988. At the age of 10 she was introduced to indoor Volleyball. At the age of 21 she got into Beach Volleyball and between 2013 and 2018 she played at numerous high-level FIVB World Tour events and CEV tournaments, claiming gold with Svetlana Kholomina at a 2017 CEV EEVZA Satellite in Yantarny. When she was 30, the 190-cm-tall blocker started playing Snow Volleyball. In her very first season on the snow, Motrich won two gold medals on the FIVB World Tour (Wagrain-Kleinarl and Plan de Corones / Kronplatz) and another two on the CEV European Tour (Erciyes and St. Anton am Arlberg), eventually claiming the 2019 Queen of the Snow title. She stormed into her second season on the snow with gold medals at both of the first two European Tour events so far (Tsakhkadzor and Bakuriani), as well as gold at the EEVZA Zonal Eastern European Tour event in Tsakhkadzor. Motrich is the current number one on the women’s individual CEV European Entry Ranking.

Olga Motrich with the Queen of the Snow trophy at St. Anton 2019

Olga Motrich: “My name is Olga Motrich and I was born in Moscow. When I was 10 years old, a coach came to my school and offered me to start practicing indoor Volleyball. At the age of 21 I got into Beach Volleyball and fell in love with this sport! Nine years later, I found my new love – Snow Volleyball. In the autumn of 2018, as I was changing clubs, I was offered to play at the Snow Volleyball European Tour stop in Moscow. At first, I thought this was madness, but I agreed and did not regret it! It was very cold, but the party atmosphere kept us warm. In comparison to Beach Volleyball, the presence of three players on the court makes the game more variable and attractive. Thanks to Snow Volleyball, for the first time in my life I got to visit some winter mountain ski resorts and it was incredibly beautiful! I used to think, what can be better than sea, sun and sand, but now I think that nothing can be more beautiful than the snowy mountains! I am confident that this sport will be Olympic and the general public will fall in love with it. I wish to play at the Olympics with my team and, of course, win gold medals!”
