Armenian Federation resume work to grow the game in their country
News from the National Federations

Yerevan, Armenia, February 22, 2020. On Thursday, the Volleyball Federation of Armenia (VFA) started the 2020 phase in the implementation of the CEV School Project across their country. To do so, the VFA representatives decided to organise a series of activities in the Tavush Province, one of the most idyllic areas in Armenia, also known as the ‘Armenian Switzerland’.

The first stop in this sort of ‘roadshow’ was the city of Dilijan, an area that has traditionally produced quality teams and Volleyball players participating in national competitions. On Thursday, the Dilijan School no. 2 hosted a School Volleyball festival with participation of many pupils as well as some of their teachers. The children learned the most important Volleyball rules, did some exercises, and eventually played the game.

On February 22, representatives of the Armenian Volleyball Federation visited the Levon Adamyan Secondary School in Aghbyur, Tavush. Arsen Galstyan, an Olympic champion in judo for Russia at London 2012, attended this school in his early years. The programme of the Volleyball masterclass was similar to what the kids in Dilijan had enjoyed. The students and their headmaster thanked the organisers for the delivery of such an inspiring activity and promised to devote more time to play Volleyball during physical education classes as well as in their spare time.

Before leaving the cities they visited earlier this week, the VFA provided each of the two schools with a Volleyball net and balls to continue the work they have started with their respective students.
