CEV releases hygiene guidelines for the safe return of competitive sport
News from the CEV

Luxembourg, July 27, 2020. The CEV released earlier today a set of comprehensive Hygiene Guidelines aimed at supporting the organisers of future competitions as well as at providing a general framework for teams and event staff to follow in order to account for a safe return of the sport after the long break imposed by the coronavirus pandemic.

The protocols include a series of detailed hygiene measures designed for competitive sport in times of coronavirus, with more specific provisions for Volleyball and Beach Volleyball competitions due to follow in due course as well.

The objective of these measures, drawn up in close cooperation with the European Medical Commission (EMC), is to protect all athletes as well as all persons involved in the staging of CEV competitions / events from COVID-19 infection and thus enable the reliable return of competitive sport in Europe.

Further adaptations are possible at any time depending on the evolution of the COVID-19 situation across Europe, with the latest measures adopted by the respective national health authorities always prevailing, as the safety and well-being of everyone associated with the sport remain the CEV’s top priority.

The CEV Competitions Hygiene Guidelines are available here.
