#EuroBeachVolley 2020 Top Contenders – Men
EuroBeachVolley 2020

Luxembourg, September 11, 2020. The anticipation for the most important beach volleyball competition of the year is growing as we are only a few days away from the opening matches of the EuroBeachVolley 2020 scheduled to debut on 15 September in Jurmala, Latvia.

Some of the best teams in the world will go on the court in an attempt to achieve European glory, and whilst surprises can come from anywhere, we will now bring our attention to those teams that have the biggest claim to the title. These are the teams to keep an eye on during the CEV EuroBeachVolley 2020!

Anders Mol/Christian Sørum (NOR)
The BeachVolley Vikings have had an amazing run these past few years, winning the last two editions of EuroBeachVolley and a bronze medal at the World Championships 2019, among many other trophies along the way. Their ascent into the top world of beach volleyball has been truly exciting and they remain the team to beat at this year’s edition.

Viacheslav Krasilnikov/Oleg Stoyanovskiy (RUS)

The 2019 World Champions will be going into this year’s EuroBeachVolley highly motivated to win the title they could not win on home soil last year, when Moscow hosted EuroBeachVolley 2019. Despite missing out on a historic double, the return of beach volleyball will be enough to motivate this extremely ambitious team to go for gold once again.

Clemens Wickler/Julius Thole (GER)

After an impressive display that saw them winning silver at the World Championships 2019 and several remarkable results on the World Tour, this German pair is still at the beginning of their adventure together. Despite that, they have shown volleyball fans in Germany and around the world that they are and most likely will continue to be a force to be reckoned with at EuroBeachVolley 2020 and beyond.

With 32 of the best teams at the starting line of EuroBeachVolley 2020 (16-20 September) the expectations for an incredible tournament will surely be exceeded. The good news is that you can join the experience and follow along as live matches will be broadcasted across our platforms from the first to the last day of the competition!
