CEV and Czech Republic highest authorities join their forces for Volleyball

Prague, Czech Republic, October 21, 2010. An official reception was organized this morning at the Prague Castle as the President of the Czech Republic, Mr. Vaclav Klaus, did welcome CEV President André Meyer right before the start of the Drawing of Lots for the final round of the 2011 CEV European Championship – Men. Mr. Klaus, himself a former Volleyball player, was extremely glad to have a short talk with Mr. Meyer, recalling his involvement in Volleyball, the visit he paid to the Junior European Championship a couple of years ago in Brno – at that time he still had not taken over the Presidency of the State – and his decision to place the EuroVolley 2011 under his patronage.
Mr. Meyer was accompanied during this visit by CEV Vice President Jan Hronek and by the President of the Czech Volleyball Federation, Mr. Zdenek Hanik. “The active involvement of Mr. Klaus clearly shows the importance that the Czech Republic assigns to this event” says Mr. Meyer, “we are all looking forward to the start of the competition and Mr. Klaus told me that he is likely to show up in the arena to attend directly there a few games”.
