While hosting one of the most important tournaments of the season, 23 Projects Alanya International Beach Sports Centre has received the prestigious FIVB Centre of Excellence designation, thus reinforcing Alanya’s growing role as an international hub for beach sports.

Alanya has established itself as a leading hub for international Beach Volleyball events

From June 10 to 14, 2026, Alanya hosted the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Alanya Challenge, one of the most significant events on the international calendar. The tournament brought together 181 elite athletes from 28 countries and 99 teams, including 48 women’s pairs and 51 men’s duos. Some of the world’s top-ranked Beach Volleyball players made it to Alanya to compete for valuable ranking points and international recognition.

The event was held at 23 Projects Alanya International Beach Sports Centre, which recently received the FIVB Centre of Excellence designation from the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball.

The Centre of Excellence status is awarded to facilities that meet the highest international standards in sports infrastructure, athlete development, event organisation, training operations, and competition management. The recognition confirms the venue’s ability to host major international tournaments and provide professional training environments for athletes from around the world.

The facility features a 3,300-seat grandstand, four main competition courts, 22 training and practice courts, professional lighting systems for night events, athlete and spectator lounges, fitness facilities, hospitality areas, and dedicated spaces for sponsors and event partners.

The local Beach Sports Centre is equipped with all facilities for a top-level experience for athletes and other stakeholders alike

One of the centre’s most important advantages is its year-round operational capacity. Supported by Alanya’s Mediterranean climate, the venue hosts tournaments, training camps, development programmes, and sports events throughout the year.

According to the 2026 event calendar, international competitions, national championships, and public tournaments are scheduled across nearly every month of the year. This continuous activity has positioned Alanya as one of the few destinations capable of supporting a complete Beach Volleyball ecosystem that includes elite competition, athlete development, training camps, and community participation.

Throughout 2026, the centre is hosting major events organised under the umbrella of FIVB, CEV, and the Turkish Volleyball Federation, including Beach Pro Tour tournaments, Nations Cup qualifiers, national championships, and other international Beach Volleyball events, such as the CEV Beach Volley European Cup 2026 Final.

The combination of world-class infrastructure, favourable climate conditions, and a year-round calendar has strengthened Alanya’s reputation as one of the leading Beach Volleyball destinations in Europe and the Mediterranean region.

As international participation continues to grow and new events are added to the calendar, Alanya is steadily establishing itself as a global centre for Beach Volleyball and beach sports development, with 23 Projects Alanya International Beach Sports Centre playing a key role in this transformation.
