The 2026 EEVZA U18 Beach Volleyball Championships, which count as a first-round zonal qualifier for this year’s #EuroBeachVolleyU18, gets underway on Wednesday in Cesis, Latvia, thereby bringing together the region’s most talented young Beach Volleyball players for three days of competition from July 1 to 3. Cesis  is  a city where both Volleyball and Beach Volleyball are extremely popular and therefore the organisers expect not only competitive and exciting matches, but great support from the fans as well.

Rising stars from across the EEVZA region will compete in Cesis this week

A total of 32 teams – 16 per gender – representing eight countries will compete for the championship titles and qualification to #EuroBeachVolleyU18. Players from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Estonia, Georgia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, and Ukraine will battle for medals and one coveted spot per gender for the continental championship in this age group.

The tournament opens on Wednesday with the pool matches. Thursday’s schedule includes the remaining pool stage matches, as well as the first two rounds of the elimination phase. The winners of each pool will qualify directly to the quarterfinals, while the second- and third-placed teams will compete in a play-off round for a place in the last eight. The eventual champions and runners-up in both the boys’ and girls’ tournaments will secure a spot to compete at the CEV U18 Beach Volleyball European Championships which will be held in Izmir, Türkiye, from September 17 to 20.

Beach Volleyball action in Cesis will continue immediately after the U18 event, as the city hosts the EEVZA U16 Beach Volleyball Championships on July 4-5. The tournament will once again feature 16 boys’ teams and 16 girls’ pairs, thus providing another opportunity for the region’s rising stars to compete on the international stage.
