CEV EuroBeachVolley 2027 to take place in Gstaad!

Breaking news: for the third time in history, the CEV EuroBeachVolley will be held in Switzerland in 2027. From 30 June to 4 July of next year, the best European teams will compete for continental honours in Gstaad.

Following previous editions held in Basel in 2002 and Biel/Bienne in 2016, the European Beach Volleyball Championships will be held in Switzerland for a third time in 2027. Swiss Volley and Sports Events Gstaad (SEG) will jointly host the major event together with the CEV. The EuroBeachVolley will replace the traditional annual Elite Tournament in the Bernese Oberland, which will return to Gstaad from 2028.

The Swiss venue has become synonymous with Beach Volleyball at the highest level and has earned an almost unrivalled reputation through its successful hosting of major Beach Volleyball events for more than two decades. Switzerland is regarded as a cradle of European Beach Volleyball, and the sport is passionately enjoyed by many people across the country – perfect conditions for a real spectacle!” says CEV President Roko Sikirić. 

Daniela Aeschlimann, President of the Swiss Volley Executive Board: “I am delighted that, after a break of over 10 years, a Beach Volleyball European Championship is taking place in Switzerland once again. A home European Championship is a unique platform with international appeal for our top athletes. Young talents can experience Beach Volleyball at the highest level up close and be inspired and enthused by it.”
