Vienna will further cement its status as Beach Volleyball hub by playing host – from August 2 to 6 – to the 2023 edition of CEV EuroBeachVolley! After delivering the history-making World Championships 2017, EuroBeachVolley in the summer of 2021 and the inaugural CEV Beach Volleyball Nations Cup earlier this year, the Austrian capital will once again welcome the stars of the sport in 2023.

“Vienna has established itself as the real ‘home’ of elite Beach Volleyball and we could not ask for a more iconic city, reliable partner, and knowledgeable, passionate audience for the next edition of CEV EuroBeachVolley! This will help us capitalise on the tremendous success that our championship enjoyed in the summer of 2022 in Munich and engage with even more fans as our wonderful athletes embark on the journey that, slowly but surely, will be taking us to the Paris 2024 Olympics.”

After the latest edition of the premier continental competition took place in conjunction with the multi-sport European Championships Munich 2022, the event will return to Vienna – which underlines the Austrian capital’s reputation as the real ‘home’ of elite Beach Volleyball. The top 64 teams in Europe, 32 in each gender, guarantee hot summer games in the heart of the Danube metropolis.

“For Vienna, my team and I, it is another incredible honour that the CEV has entrusted us with the hosting of the European Championships. Of course, we not only see this as a great honour, but above all as a tremendous challenge too. However, I am convinced that with the support of the city and the federal government, we will be able to create unforgettable moments for our beach fans again,” said the CEO of ACTS, Hannes Jagerhofer.

The CEV, organisers ACTS, and the Austrian Volleyball Federation will announce further details about next year’s CEV EuroBeachVolley in early 2023.
