The тournament formula: how it works
For those following the action, the Nations Cup showcases a unique country-vs-country double-header format, testing the true depth of each national federation:
The Team Setup: Each country is represented by two distinct duos (Team 1 and Team 2).
The Pool Stage (Days 1 & 2):
The 8 National Federations per gender are split into two pools of four, playing a single round-robin format.
Each country-vs-country matchup consists of two matches (Pair 1 vs Pair 1, Pair 2 vs Pair 2).
Standings are calculated using a point system: 2 points for a winning National Federation of a match, 1 point for the losing federation, and 0 points for a forfeit.
The Road to the Finals (Single Elimination):
The two pool winners qualify directly for the Semi-Finals.
The 2nd and 3rd placed teams in each pool advance to the Quarterfinals.
The Golden Set returns: During the single-elimination phase, if a country matchup ends in a 1-1 tie, a sudden-death, first-to-15 Golden Set is played immediately. Coaches can strategically field a brand-new custom duo using any of their four rostered players to seal the victory.
