While the city is playing host to the CEV Beach Volley European Cup 2026 Final, the Municipality of Alanya organised a media event to further promote itself as a world-class destination for Beach Volleyball competitions and training camps almost all year round with Dutch stars Katja Stam and Stefan Boermans among the attendees.

The event at 23 Projects Alanya International Beach Sports Centre is among the many already held in 2026 in the city on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. EuroBeachVolley 2026 gold medallist Katja Stam, who returned to competition in emphatic style earlier this year after a troubled 2025 due to injury and surgery, as well as her countryman Boermans are among the high-profile ambassadors chosen by Alanya to raise its profile on the Beach Volleyball map even further. The city enjoys ideal climate conditions to welcome Beach Volleyball players and competitions – offering the right environment for training and permanent first-class facilities that athletes from across Europe and even further beyond can benefit from.

This centre also shows how facilities of this calibre can truly help grow the sport – with the local club Alanya Belediye Spor representing Türkiye in the CEV Beach Volley European Cup Final. Therefore, there is a tangible legacy that goes well beyond November 8 when the competition reaches its climax and will crown the winners of this competition introduced for the first time in 2023.

In the meantime, last year’s winners Sunrise Beach Sports Academy of Ukraine remain in contention for a second straight women’s continental crown. They reached the final with two dominant wins over France’s Montpellier Beach Volley and their rivals in the final will be Spain’s CV Majadahonda, who needed a Golden Set to edge their compatriots CDV Braveheart Gran Canaria. With a roster including the winners of this year’s Nations Cup, Sunrise remain the favourites in the final – with CV Majadahonda responding with a group of international players from Spain, Russia, and Hungary.
