Encamp successfully hosts CEV SCA U19 Women’s Beach Volleyball tournament

Iceland claimed the title in Encamp as the Andorran Volleyball Federation completed the successful organisation of its third CEV event of the summer. The CEV SCA U19 Women’s Beach Volleyball Championship – counting as a zonal qualifier for next year’s #EuroBeachVolleyU20 – came to a close on Sunday at Piscina La Mola in Encamp, thereby ending three days of high-quality competition. This once again showcased the growing standard of Beach Volleyball among Europe’s Small Countries.

Organised by the Andorran Volleyball Federation (FAVB) under the umbrella of the Confédération Européenne de Volleyball (CEV), the tournament welcomed nine teams representing seven nations, all competing for the Small Countries title and two spots at next year’s #EuroBeachVolleyU20 in a vibrant atmosphere and outstanding sporting environment.

The weekend culminated with Iceland lifting the trophy after an impressive campaign. The Icelandic duo defeated the Faroe Islands in the gold medal match to complete an unbeaten tournament and claim the title. The Faroese pair settled for silver after a remarkable run to the final, while Scotland secured the bronze medal by overcoming Ireland in a thrilling three-set contest.

Host nation Andorra also enjoyed a successful tournament, with its two teams finishing fifth and seventh respectively after winning their final classification matches against Malta and Northern Ireland.

Beyond the sporting results, the event marked the conclusion of an intense and highly successful period for the Andorran Volleyball Federation, which has delivered three international CEV competitions within the space of just a few weeks.

The summer began with the CEV SCA Senior Women’s Volleyball Championships in Andorra la Vella, before the focus shifted to Encamp for back-to-back editions of the CEV SCA U19 Men’s and Women’s Beach Volleyball Championships. 
Successfully organising three international events across both Volleyball and Beach Volleyball, involving senior and youth categories, highlights the Federation’s continued commitment to developing the sport and its growing expertise in hosting international competitions.
The success of these events has been made possible thanks to the close collaboration between the CEV, the Andorran Volleyball Federation, the Andorra Government, the Comú d’Encamp, the Comú d’Andorra la Vella, officials, volunteers, partners and sponsors, whose collective efforts have reinforced Andorra’s reputation as a reliable and welcoming destination for international Volleyball.

As another memorable CEV event comes to an end, Encamp once again demonstrated that it has become a reference venue for Beach Volleyball within the Small Countries Association, while Andorra continues to strengthen its place on the European Volleyball map.
