Stare Jablonki cements Beach Volleyball Mecca status with EuroBeachVolley added to track record

There is no major sporting event that can go ahead without volunteers at its core and the CEV EuroBeachVolley 2026 in Stare Jablonki is just a confirmation of that. The organisers have recruited some 65 volunteers across a variety of areas to support the smooth delivery of the continental championship – including ball kids, rakers, and other personnel supporting media and TV operations, athlete services, and much more.
On Saturday morning, with a little, pleasant breeze and the sun shining brightly, they all came together on the pier by the lake and right next to the iconic centre court in Stare Jablonki for a group picture. You could easily feel their joy and excitement for the day ahead – as well as their pride for helping making sure that the tournament is running as smoothly as possible.
Beach Volleyball has a long connection with Stare Jablonki and Hotel Anders – whose manager Tomasz Dowgiallo recounts that originally their decision to deliver a Beach Volleyball event that has grown steadily with each edition was designed to make their facility stand out compared to other hotels in the area. However, with each year, the event in Stare Jablonki has also become a truly unique opportunity to promote Stare Jablonki and the whole Warmia Mazury Region as a destination for holiday-makers attracted and enchanted by the pristine nature and the possibility to recharge and disconnect from their busy routines.
Norway’s Beach Volleyball superstar Christian Sørum shared his appreciation for Stare Jablonki after the quarterfinal match he and partner Anders Mol won on Saturday:
“The crowd is certainly what makes this place so special. We thank the fans for accounting for such a great atmosphere. Obviously, the location by the lake is great as well – it feels like a real privilege to be able to play here in Poland, where the local people have so much knowledge about our sport and show an incredible passion for Volleyball.”
The event also attracts celebrities and former players alike. Some former elite indoor players are due to contest an exhibition match on Sunday right in the centre court and on Saturday Kinga Wojtasik (Kolosinska) and Katarzyna Kociolek, silver medal winners from the 2019 edition of the event held in Moscow, were spotted on the grounds of Stare Jablonki with their baby children Róża and Jagoda. Maybe we got to meet the next generation of elite Polish players – as Stare Jablonki continues to establish itself as a real hotspot on the global Beach Volleyball map… The climax will be reached on Sunday with the crowning of the 2026 European champions who will also secure a spot for their National Olympic Committee to compete at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
