Switzerland Wins Beach Volleyball Olympic Bronze through Huberli/Brunner

Switzerland’s Tanja Huberli & Nina Brunner bounced back in style to claim Olympic Bronze this evening after a remarkable performance, characterized by the resilience that has seen them reach the podium in Paris.
The will to conquer was evident from the start for the Swiss Duo against the Australians, Mariafe/Clancy who tested the Swiss from the beginning but to little or no effect. A straight sets win (0-2; 17-21, 15-21) for the European reigning champs and a second Bronze medal in a row for Switzerland, after Heidrich/Verge-Depre managed the same performance in Tokyo three years ago.

We played a great tournament and yesterday we were qite sad, because we felt that we had a lot more in our pocket but we didn't take our chances, so now to bounce back and get the Bronze is amazing!"
