Three #BeachEuropeanCup qualifiers completed as starting field for Alanya Final takes shape

Three events scheduled for the Preliminary Phase of the CEV Beach Volley European Cup 2026 were completed this past weekend in Italy, France, and Poland – with the local favourites making the home-sand advantage count to progress to the final stage of the competition scheduled for early November in Alanya, Türkiye. 

Multiple national champions ASD Beach Volley Training of Italy made it to the top of the men’s and women’s competition they hosted in the suburbs of Torino – where they had to deal with opponents from Norway, France, England, and Spain. With their home success, they have secured the right of representing Italy on the international stage after previously doing so in 2023 and 2024. 

The sensational winners of last year’s European Cup in Heraklion, Greece, France’s Ré Beach Club, were the dominant force on home soil and will travel to Türkiye in a few weeks to try to defend the title they claimed in 2025. However, their women’s teams finished second to Spain’s CDV Braveheart Gran Canaria – and so the Spaniards have punched their ticket to Alanya from an event that featured clubs from Wales and Northern Ireland as well. 

The third and last event held this past week took place in Poznan, Poland. Home favourites Unique Wilczyce emerged victorious from the women’s competition, thereby leaving behind Lithuania’s KBC Klaipeda. In the men’s competition, the home heroes of Proskos Poznan had to be content with second place, with Czechia’s Beachvolejbalova skola Praha taking the top spot and the right to compete in Alanya for continental glory.

Three more qualifying events will be taking place this coming weekend in Göteborg (Sweden), Chania (Greece), and Budapest (Hungary), thereby helping complete the line-up for the final stage of the competition scheduled for November 5-8 in Alanya.
