Three Italian teams in contention for home glory at Cirò Marina Futures

Teams from Italy are in with a chance to claim top honours from the third and last of three straight Beach Pro Tour Futures held in their country.

On Sunday, two women’s teams from the host nation will be vying for a spot in the gold medal match at Cirò Marina. Giada Godenzoni/Giulia Rubini are due to play American qualifiers Madelyne Anderson and Molly Turner as top seeds Valentina Cali and Margherita Tega take on Estonia’s Heleene Hollas and Liisa Soomets.

There is an Italian team still in contention for glory in the men’s competition too. Carlo Bonifazi and Davide Benzi, the no. 1 seed, are due to play against the surprise package from England, Issa Batrane and Frederick Bialokoz in the semis. In the other semi-final, Norway’s Markus Mol and Nils Gunnar Ringøen will take on Argentina’s Bautista Amieva/Leo Aveiro.
