The second matches of the domestic league finals were played this weekend in both Italy and Türkiye, and the #CLVolleyW semifinalists Conegliano and VakifBank continued their impressive form. With commanding 3-1 and 3-0 victories, both teams now lead their best-of-five series 2-0 and are just one step away from clinching their respective national titles.

In the Italian Serie A1 final, A. Carraro Imoco Volley Conegliano hosted Numia Vero Volley Milano for the second match of the series. From the very beginning, Conegliano took full control and never allowed their opponents to settle into the match. With consistent pressure and strong performances across the court, they wrapped up the game in straight sets (3-0: 25-22, 25-20, 25-18) to double their lead in the final.

Brazilian outside hitter Gabriela Guimaraes was named the MVP of the match after contributing 19 points, while Isabelle Haak and Zhu Ting added 17 and 11 points, respectively. On the Milano side, Paola Egonu once again led her team with 19 points, but it was not enough to overcome the reigning champions. The third match will be played tomorrow, where Conegliano will aim to close out the series and secure yet another Italian championship.

In Türkiye, the CEV Champions League Volley semifinalist VakifBank Istanbul took on their archrivals Fenerbahce Medicana Istanbul in the second match of the Turkish Sultanlar League final series. Although Fenerbahce claimed the opening set, VakifBank responded with greater composure in the crucial moments of each following set. Italian expert Giovanni Guidetti’s squad secured another 3-1 win (22-25, 25-20, 25-19, 25-23), mirroring the result of the opening match.

Marina Markova continued her outstanding form for VakifBank, leading all scorers with 27 points, including six aces. Fenerbahce’s Turkish opposite Melissa Vargas also delivered a strong performance with 24 points and six aces, but it wasn’t enough to shift the momentum. The next match will take place tomorrow, where VakifBank will have the chance to complete the sweep and lift the national trophy.

With both Conegliano and VakifBank showing dominance in their respective finals, the stage is now set for a potential title celebration on Tuesday. Another win for either side will secure not only the national crown but also great momentum ahead of their #CLVolleyW semifinal clashes.
